The challenge with the current way of solving the problem is that it is both costly and time-consuming. The crew must travel, spend many days in hotels, and use time that is essentially their leisure time. This not only costs money but is also unpopular among seafarers. The recent COVID-19 pandemic, in particular, has made a solution like ours even more relevant. The STCW convention is vital in this process, and VeriMar AS aims to grow into one of the largest providers of e-learning and VR simulator training courses in Norway, together with our partners. We want to offer a solution where training is conducted on board the vessel or during the crew's time on board. If necessary, the training can be done in connection with crew changes so that the crew does not have to spend large parts of their time off. Our solution is based on the use of VR technology and equipment that is easily placed on board and does not require large, heavy hardware and software installations, such as those found at Kongsberg Maritime or the Canadian company Virtual Marine.
